As mentioned earlier, this list is based on audience reception and, more than anything, my personal opinion.

1. HEALER(2014-2015)

What makes the healer so special is how effortlessly it moves between genres. Healer is one of the rare dramas that has a perfect amount of action, comedy, and romance, and none of them overpower the others.

The drama follows our lead, Seo Jung-hoo, better known by his codename, Healer, a mysterious night courier who is highly skilled and takes dangerous jobs just to make money.

On the other hand, we have Chae Young-shin, a quirky, ambitious internet reporter determined to become a respected journalist but , and Kim Moon-ho, a famous reporter who becomes obsessed with uncovering a secret connected to his past.

Jung-hoo adopts the name Park Bong-soo to go undercover, work with Young-shin and Moon-ho, and expose the mystery behind the 1992 incident in which five friends ran an illegal pro-democracy pirate radio station that led to a disaster.

Some of the viewers have had different views; some of them have said that as the story moves and introduces more characters, it can become difficult to remember exactly who is connected to whom, and also that the finale moves quickly and leaves a few details less completely resolved than they could have been.

But a lot of people, including me, believe that it is one of the best K-dramas of all time because different genres complement one another. The romance gives it emotional depth. The comedy keeps it from becoming too heavy, and the characters give viewers a reason to care about what happens next.

2. CRASH LANDING ON YOU(2019–2020)

This is one of my personal favorites and is arguably the best K-dramas of all time.

What happens when a South Korean heiress accidentally crosses into North Korea and the North Korean officer who finds her decides to hide her instead of turning her in?

Yoon Se-ri is a wealthy South Korean businesswoman who, after a paragliding accident, is sent across the border into North Korea

Jeong-hyeok is a disciplined North Korean army captain who discovers Se-ri hiding in his territory. Rather than hand her over, he decides to protect her and secretly works with his soldiers to find a way to get her back to South Korea.

At its heart, Crash Landing on You is a love story built around an enormous obstacle.

Se-ri and Jeong-hyeok aren’t simply separated by distance or disapproving families. They come from two countries divided by one of the world’s most politically charged borders.

The drama constantly reminds viewers that these two people cannot simply decide to live happily ever after. Their relationship exists within circumstances neither of them can completely control.

3.BECAUSE THIS IS MY LIFE(2017)

Not every K-drama needs a dramatic love triangle, secret identities, or impossible coincidences.

Sometimes the most compelling dramas are about something much closer to real life

This Is My First Life is one of those dramas.

Our lead Yoon Ji-ho, an aspiring writer struggling financially, and Nam Se-hee, a socially awkward IT employee who owns a home but is struggling with his mortgage.When their circumstances bring them together as housemates, they enter a marriage of convenience that initially looks like a practical arrangement.

What makes the drama stand out is doesn’t have over-the-top romantic gestures; instead, it is much closer to reality. It spends time examining how two people with different expectations, insecurities, and ideas about relationships slowly learn to understand each other.

One of the best things about Because This Is My First Life is that the supporting characters aren’t simply there to provide comic relief.

The drama uses several relationships to explore different ideas about love, marriage and independence.

The biggest criticism about the drama is that it can feel slow, especially if you love fast-paced romances filled with constant twists dramas.

For me, it is one of the best K-dramas of all time because it explores realistic romance, slice-of-life storytelling, workplace themes and thoughtful conversations about modern relationships.

4.Its OKAY NOT TO BE OKAY(2020)

The drama follows Moon Gang-tae, a psychiatric ward caregiver who has spent much of his life looking after his older brother, and Ko Moon-young, a successful children’s book author whose cold and abrasive personality hides a deeply troubled childhood with her mother.

The relationship between Gang-tae and Moon-young is one of the drama’s biggest strengths—and also one of its most debatable aspects.

The chemistry between them is undeniable They recognize that both of them are carrying wounds that they have never properly dealt with.

But Moon-young’s behaviour can also be disturbing.

Some viewers felt that the drama occasionally came too close to presenting unhealthy or boundary-crossing behaviour as romantic. Others interpreted her actions as part of a deliberately flawed character who gradually learns to change.

Another criticism of the drama is that the show’s portrayal of mental health isn’t beyond criticism. Some viewers have questioned whether certain psychological conditions and behaviours are portrayed realistically, while others appreciate the series for opening conversations about trauma, emotional wounds and recovery.

But if you enjoy psychological romance, character-driven stories, dark fairy-tale aesthetics, and dramas that explore trauma and emotional healing, then you are in for a ride.

5.All of Us Are Dead (2022)

As someone who deeply enjoys the zombie apocalypse movies/dramas, for me, this is the best K-drama of all time.

All of Us Are Dead takes the familiar zombie-apocalypse formula and puts it inside a Korean high school, trapping a group of teenagers in the middle of a rapidly spreading outbreak.What follows is not just a fight against zombies, but a messy story about friendship, bullying, fear, first love and survival.

It all started at the Hyosan High School l after science teacher Lee Byeong-chan develops a virus while desperately trying to help his bullied son.When the infection spreads through the school, ordinary classrooms and hallways become battlegrounds.

Students who were sitting beside each other moments earlier are suddenly forced to decide who they can trust and who they have to leave behind.

Some viewers have found this frustrating because these high school students They panic. They argue. They make impulsive decisions. Sometimes they do things that seem incredibly stupid.

Some viewers have also criticised its pacing, particularly during sections where the story slows down instead of delivering continuous zombie action. The series also makes some questionable character decisions and contains plot conveniences that become easier to notice if you’re watching very critically.
